Microsoft Copilot Training for Small Business Teams

The short answer: Wallai runs hands-on Microsoft 365 Copilot training for owner-led Canadian businesses. Your team works on its own emails, spreadsheets and meetings, not demo files. Steve Walters runs every session, in person from Ancaster or online, and agrees the scope in writing before work starts.

Why it stalls

Why Copilot licences go unused.

You bought the licences.
A few people tried it.
Then the busy week came, and everyone went back to the old way.

That is the usual story. The tool works. Nobody showed the team what to use it for on a Tuesday afternoon with a full inbox.

One person learns it. Everyone else waits for that person.

What a session covers

We start from your work, then teach the tool.

  • 01

    Outlook

Summarize long threads, draft replies in your voice, pull out what someone promised and when.

  • 02

    Excel

Ask questions of a sheet in plain English, clean up exports, build the summary you rebuild by hand every month.

  • 03

    Teams

Meeting recaps, action items, and catching up on a meeting you missed.

  • 04

    Word and PowerPoint

First drafts from your own notes and files.

  • 05

    Data rules

What Copilot can see, why permissions matter, and what should never go into a prompt. Copilot only shows people what they already have access to, so we check that access first.

Each person leaves with prompts for their own role and one task they now do faster.

FAQ

Questions owners ask first.

Do we need Microsoft 365 Copilot licences first?

For the in-app features, yes. Copilot in Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams needs a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan plus the Copilot add-on. If you don't have it yet, we can start with the free Copilot Chat and decide on licences after.

Is it safe to use Copilot with company data?

Microsoft says Copilot only shows data the user already has permission to see, and does not use your prompts to train its foundation models. The risk is loose permissions. We review who can see what before the team starts.

Can you train us on our own files?

Yes. That is the point. Generic demos don't stick. Your own inbox and spreadsheets do.

Do you train in person?

Yes, in person from Ancaster, or online for teams anywhere in Canada.

What does it cost?

It depends on team size and format. You get the scope and fee in writing before any work starts.
